HOLIDAY Romance posted her Maiden win after three good places at Turffontein on Sunday.
The three-year-old filly by Dynasty from Love Affair made the pace under a well-judged ride from Callan Murray and extended quick after they’d reached the short straight, kicking several lengths clear in a 1600m contest.
Her rivals were gaining late, but Murray had left enough in the tank to win easing down approaching the line. “Holiday Romance is a nice consistent filly, she’s light-framed though and if she doesn’t make the Ready To Run race we’ll give her a break,” said Mathew de Kock.
A R500,000 purchase from the 2016 CTS Sale, Holiday Romance races for the regular De Kock/Grant/Haynes/McVeigh/Malherbe partnership plus Brad Ralph and Gary Grant said: “Brad came to the sale and liked her, took a share with us.”
