Ridgemont Highlands’ late, great sire Dynasty had a notable double at Kenilworth on Saturday, with his daughter Sacha landing Saturday’s fifth race and son One Way Traffic victorious in the penultimate race on the card.
The Vaughan Marshall trained Sacha stamped herself an attractive future stud prospect when she bolted up to break her maiden in tremendous style.
Under Craig Bantam, the three-year-old hit the front close home in the Computaform Online Maiden Plate (F&M) (1600m) and drew off to beat fellow Dynasty daughter Dyanne by a length.
Bred by Alec Foster (who also bred Dynasty’s July winning son Belgarion), Sacha was not winning out of turn, with the consistent filly having finished either second or third in each of her three previous starts.
Out of the Western Winter mare Wintersweet, Sacha is a full-sister to this season’s G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup winner Black Knap.

Ridgemont Highlands bred the progressive gelding One Way Traffic, who outclassed his rivals to win Saturday’s seventh race in eye catching fashion.
Closely related to the Dynasty sired Aquanaut Handicap winner Wonderous Climber, the Justin Snaith trained One Way Traffic rocketed home, under Richard Fourie, to land Goals And Gallops MR 82 Handicap (2400m) by three and a half lengths.

Out of the Spectrum mare Careful Hiker, One Way Traffic was an R800 000 buy from the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Former Horse Of The Year, and named Equus Outstanding Stallion on four occasions, Dynasty has enjoyed another tremendous, albeit posthumous, season in 2020-2021.
The champion son of Fort Wood has been responsible for eight black type winners this season thus far, and, at the time of writing, Dynasty sired runners have banked in excess of R6.329 million for 2020-2021.
