The Ridgemont Highlands based Canford Cliffs has a really tough son in the form of the David O’Meara trained Tomily.
That gelding made it three wins in a row when he recorded a length and a half win in Wednesday’s Sky Bet Go-Racing-In-Yorkshire Summer Festival Handicap at Catterick.
Under title chasing jockey Daniel Tudhope, Tomily made it career win number nine when staying on smartly in Wednesday’s race while being pushed out to win.
Out of the Acclamation mare Cake, Tomily could attempt to add to his tally of wins when he lines up in the Sky Bet Dash Handicap at York tomorrow!
Canford Cliffs, whose promising two-year-old half-brother Toronto ran second in Thursday’s G3 Japan Racing Association Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown, is currently responsible for 28 black type performers with his recent high-class performers headed by brilliant seven length Carey Group Buckhounds Stakes winner Salouen (a runner in Saturday’s G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes). Runner up, to the mighty Cracksman, in last year’s G1 Investec Coronation Cup, Salouen has earned just shy of £500 000 in stakes.
Himself a five time G1 winner, Canford Cliffs’ first South African foals are set to arrive this year.
